We’re getting closer to the third annual Sónar + D edition in Barcelona, gathering creatives, entrepreneurs, artists and many more for the conference that celebrates the relationship between creativity and technology and the digital transformation of cultural industries.
New for this year is something called the “Startup garden”, where national and international companies can promote themselves and meet investors, as well as interact with other key players in the creative industries ecosystem.
Calling for 30 startups
The call for the startups end at 15th of april, and 30 companies will be selected from all the applications.
As usual Sónar + D is holding a startup competition, but the 30 startups will not only get a ticket to the competition, but also attend mentoring and network activities with national and international investors and press.
The call is open to all startups belonging to the creative industry (music, video, design, hardware or IoT), with an on-going project lasting more than 12 months. They’re also especially want companies looking for funding between €200.000 and €2 million.
It’s already confirmed that several prominent investors are attending Sónar + D, such as Wayra, Reaktor Ventures, 360 Capital Partners, Active Venture Partners, Sushi Venture Partners, and several others.
Around 50,000 visitors
The event is held from the 16th – 18th of June, at Fira Montjuïc parallel to Sónar by Day, which means that founders that get selected, will potentially have 50,000 people to show their ideas to.
You can apply for the “Startup Garden” here (there will be a €750 registration fee for the startups that get selected).
Luckily the event is open for everybody that loves creativity in all forms. Experts from many parts of the creative industry will for the third time, both inspire, teach and keep us updated on what’s new in this sector.
See you there!
