Barcinno is a community-driven, (almost) daily news platform covering everything new and disruptive coming out of Barcelona.
The name brings together Barcelona’s history as a Roman military outpost called ‘Barcino’, its present as the largest city on the Mediterranean, and its future as a world-leading innovation hub connecting the brightest minds around the world.
Our goal is to shine a giant spotlight on Barcelona’s innovation engine and highlight the do-ers, designers, creators, and entrepreneurs that are turning Barcelona into a world-class technology hub.
We have a lot to learn and even more to teach, so let’s share the stories that are cutting the path to Barcelona’s future!
Send in your news or create your own content. No rules, let’s just see how this grows.
Scott Mackin is an American-born traveler, writer, entrepreneur and aspiring Spanish speaker. Lately, he spends his days helping startups on their growth strategy and content marketing, otherwise, you’ll find him Bicing around el Born with his wife Karianne. If you want to share a story about the Barcelona tech scene, a cool new project you’re working on, or would like to contribute, don’t hesitate to reach him @scottjmackin
Stewart Masters isn’t your typical Englishman. He traded high tea for vino and Spanish bureaucracy. He sees Barcelona developing into an important innovation hub and wants to play a lead role in its evolution. He is a loving husband, aspiring world leader and is a (clears throat) super successful tech entrepreneur. He co-founded Clubkviar & Kviarcity and currently runs them as a passionate but tyrannical COO. You can follow him right here @stewartdmasters
Lija van Vliet is passionate about innovation, art, traveling, knowledge sharing and literature. She blogged about daily adventures in Saint Petersburg (Russia), Tbilisi (Georgia) and Rotterdam (Netherlands). After working for three years as an innovation advisor on accelerating innovation projects in Delta technology, she moved from her home country of the Netherlands to Barcelona with her fiancée in 2013. In this city of miracles, she spends her time driving innovation, entrepreneurship and storytelling. Follow her @lijavanvliet
