The ESADE Entrepreneurship Institute and  Alumni Entrepreneurship of  ESADE Alumni have launched a new series of meetings called,Last Thursday. Their aim is to encourage networking opportunities between entrepreneurs, investors, service providers, others involved in entrepreneurial efforts, faculty, business plan sponsors and students. Last Thursday will be the ideal platform in which to exchange ideas, share experiences and foment new business opportunities, all over an informal drink.

20:00 – 21:00 Chat about E-commerce with Xisco de la Calle (Lic&MBA 01), Europe Operations VP at JustFab and cofounder of The Fab Shoes, and Miquel Martí (MBA 99), Managing Director ofEcommerce&Tech, who will share the secrets of successful E-commerce and their experience as entrepreneurs. Xisco de la Calle will explain the growth of a start-up bought out by the world’s leader in the industry, and Miquel Martí will explai how Ecommerce & Tech helps an emerging sector mainly consists of digital business and e-commerce.

Xisco de la Calle
 (Lic&MBA01), Europe Operations VP at JustFab and cofounder of The Fab Shoes. The Fab Shoes started out in 2011 as an online fashion store for subscribers. Two years later, in July 2013, the start-up was bought out by Justfab, the world’s giant in this sector. The founders of the leading brand, The Fab Shoes, include Pablo Szefner, the brain behind the successful French website Weekendesk, Xisco de la Calle, former Privalia manager, and the designer Belén Barbero, who founded of Beba’s Closet and designs the brand’s shoes. Xisco de la Calle will explain the keys to success in e-business and how the world’s No.1 in this sector uses buyouts to grow.  
 
Miquel Martí (MBA 99), Managing Director of Ecommerce & Tech Barcelona. Industrial engineer specialised in the electricity industry. Former manager of the Barcelona HQ of AIDIT. He joined Biocat in 2010 as head of the Center for Scientific Debate where he was subsequently the Finance and Operations manager and Business Development director. In the middle of 2013 he became the director of Ecommerce&Tech, the E-commerce and technology cluster in Barcelona driven by the city’s main companies in this industry – edreams, privalia, softonic, ulabox, inspirit, itnet – with the help of Barcelona city council, whose aim is to make Barcelona an international benchmark for e-business.
