What we talk about when we talk about DevOps

The next talk in GeeksHubs Barcelona by Numa Barcelona will be on June 8 at 19:00. This talk will be about “What we talk about when we talk about DevOps“.

Everybody is talking about DevOps these days. There is good money behind these roles because, at the end of the day, most organisations suffer from similar problems if they keep doing things as we used to in the past. The DevOps principles should help but DevOps is not something you can buy, it is all about working in a different way.
Ricard in the first part of the talk we will discuss these problems and how we can tactically approach them and gradually introduce a change of mind.
And in the second part we will show examples using tools like Packer, Ansible or Terraform which can definitely help the transition. Most of it will be directly usable in AWS but the concepts and majority of code is applicable to any other public Cloud vendor or even to Datacenters”.

Ricard is a backend engineer and architect specialising in high performance architectures for social gaming, e-commerce, fintech, mobile apps and web apps handling millions of daily users and financial transactions.
He has broad devops experience using Amazon Web Services and other cloud computing providers, automation with Ansible, the Hashicorp toolset and hands-on experience at massive scale setups.
