Startup Grind Barcelona Hosts Pere Vallés (Scytl)

Pere joined Scytl in 2004 after spending most of his professional career in the United States. Scytl is the technology company that it is transforming the election industry with customers in 42 countries, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Brazil, South Africa, India and Australia. Scytl is a Barcelona-based company with over 600 employees in 21 countries around the world and is currently backed by 8 leading VC funds, including Vulcan Capital (Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft), Sapphire Ventures (SAP), Balderton Capital and Nauta Capital.

Prior to joining Scytl, Pere was Chief Financial Officer of GlobalNet, a NASDAQ publicly-traded telecommunications company headquartered in Chicago. Pere assisted GlobalNet in becoming one of the leading providers of Voice-over-IP in the world and was instrumental in the successful sale of the company to the Titan Corporation.  Previously, Pere had worked as Senior Manager for KPMG’s Mergers & Acquisitions group in Los Angeles and Miami providing financial and strategic consulting services in the technology and telecommunications field.

Pere has a bachelor degree in Economics and a bachelor degree in Law from the University of Barcelona and a MBA (summa cum laude) from Indiana University.
