mWeek TALKS – The future of work

The way in which we generate and produce work, has been progressively transformed in the last decades, but in the last 5 years this change has been exponential.

The digital transformation appeals and responds urgently to innovations that have emerged and have unstructured the market itself and the competitiveness of companies. The accelerated transversal automation between sectors, under the potential of the AI; the ability to manufacture digital creations on a global scale, with a drastic price reduction; the reinvention of spaces and forms of work; characterized as the emergence of Industry 4.0 or the 4th Industrial Revolution, they join the new economic and social policies that lead to new integral ways of working. Professions and jobs seem threatened. However, new needs emerge and with it new opportunities to work. But, Who can work and who can not? What will happen to those who are displaced? What role will play the universal basic income that emerges today with force as a counterproposal to alleviate the possible social situation?

But not all are futurities: open organizations, flexibilized and digitized working methods that allow working in teams formed by projects, or the controversial “uberization”, are realities that force us to reflect on the power of these emerging technologies and the imminent social and labor revolution.
