Barcelona Code School is hosting MLH Local Hack Day on December 2nd, 2017
What is MLH Local Hack Day?
MLH Local Hack Day is a 12 hour hack day on our school’s campus that brings together the local hacker community to celebrate building awesome technology.
On December 2nd 2017, students around the world will be simultaneously hosting their own MLH Local Hack Day at their school, resulting in the single largest day of hacking.
Whether you’re a seasoned hackathon veteran or have never been to a hackathon before, MLH Local Hack Day is the best way to kick off the 2018 MLH Hackathon Season.
We want to spread the hacker ethos to Barcelona Code School!
What is a hackathon?
The word “hackathon” is a portmanteau of the words “hack” and “marathon”, where “hack” is used in the sense of exploratory programming, not its alternate meaning as a reference to computer crime. Hackathons are awesome events full of creativity, technology and passionate tech-related students & professionals collaborating and creating. Attendees work in teams to create apps, games, robots… literally anything you want to build & learn about!
How much does it cost?
Local Hack Day BCS is free for all accepted hackers. We will provide you WiFi, swag, and workspace.
What can I build?
Web, mobile, hardware, anything is on the table.
What if I don’t have a team?
No need to worry! Part of the fun of a hackathon is meeting new people. We will have time at the beginning of the event for everyone to meet and form teams.
Where is it being held?
Local Hack Day BCS will take place in BCS’s Campus at Carrer de Muntaner 262 in Barcelona, Spain.
What should I bring?
All attendees must bring a valid ID for admission. Other common checklist items include laptops and chargers.
How big can teams be?
Teams of up to four are welcome. You can also hack solo if you want!
