About the Speaker

Santi Herrero

Santi is the co-founder and CTO at EDpuzzle. Telecom engineer from Universidad Politécnica de Catalunya (UPC), he spent his last year of university working in his final project at Tongji University of Shanghai, China. It was in China where he discovered how to channel his programming skills to build products people want. Shortly after, he gathered with his 3 friends and co-founders (which he had known since the age of 3 and who were his colleagues all the way from kindergarten to university), and started what now is EDpuzzle directly at the heart of Silicon Valley.

EDpuzzle is an educational platform where teachers can turn any video into their personal, interactive and accountable lesson. EDpuzzle launched over 3 years ago in San Francisco after being part of ImagineK12 (Y Combinator), one of the best accelerator programs in the world. Today, over 9 million teachers and over 25% of schools in the USA, adopt EDpuzzle to engage their students using videos. With offices in Barcelona and San Francisco, EDpuzzle is actively looking to attract talent to accomplish the mission of offering to every student in the world (no matter which culture and language) the possibility to easily access outstanding educational resources.

About the Organizers

Alberto Betella

Alberto is CTO at Badi. He has more than 15 years of experience in the development of technological solutions and scientific research. He holds a PhD in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) with a specialization in Affective Computing (i.e. change a software interface and behavior based on the emotions of the user). He has worked in large international teams and participated as a speaker in public events worldwide.

Alessandro Franzi

Alessandro started following his passion in programming when he was 14 years old. He got his Computer Science degree in Bari, Italy and later he moved to Milan working in big IT companies. After 8 years of experience in enterprise companies he started working in a startup developing one of the most innovative payments systems in Italy. There he became CTO after 2 years of hard work. Soon after he decided to move to Barcelona (he missed the beach and the sunshine…) managing his team remotely. This until he co-founded Fluttr. The purpose of Fluttr is to help people to connect to each other and help them following their interests and passions.
