6 day workation at the Costa Blanca

Codino’s next workation-camp will take you to the Costa Blanca, the beautiful stretch of the Mediterranean Sea between Valencia and Alicante, 4.5 hours south of Barcelona and on average 2-3 degrees warmer.

We will stay for 6 days at Sun and Co. – one of the few existing houses worldwide combining coworking and coliving – a real Digital Nomads haven.

It’s easy and inexpensive to get there by train, bus or car – so you can be very flexible on how many days in total you want to stay.

Note:

This is a non-profit meetup and not a full-package tour provided by an operator – i.e. you have to organize transport by yourself. If there is a demand we can also rent and share a car and split costs.

Reservations and invoices have to be made directly with Sun & Co.

Once you arrive, common activities and organization provided by the meetup-organizer and the use of the coworking-space are for free. You don’t have to stay 6 days – you can extend your workation or travel back earlier!

About getting to Xàbia / Jávea

By train: RENFE has promo tickets for 47€ round trip from Barcelona to Xàbia (search for Jávea, as it’s the other Castillian name) – it includes the connection by ALSA bus from Valencia to Jávea.

ALSA also goes directly from Barcelona to Xàbia for a bit more and a bit slower, You can also share a ride with Blablacar – to Valencia 20€ is the going rate and straight to Xábia around 25€ one way.

If you have an own car – great. You can ask the other participants if they want to join you for the ride and share costs. It’ll be around 45€ for toll fees and 40€ for gasoline per ride to split.

About the Sun and Co – coworking & coliving space

Sun and Co is one of the first houses designed especially for location-independent freelancers and entrepreneurs aka digital nomads and anyone looking for a great work and leisure balance. The place is formed by like-minded people sharing living and working space, ideas and fun.

For 5 nights / 6 days of accommodation + coworking space in the house we pay:

110€ (22€ per night) for a shared 4-bed room

150€ (30€ per night) for sharing a double room

225€ (45€ per night) for your own single room

For this price we will get the following amenities:

About Xàbia / Jávea

Xàbia is less touristy and more authentic than the resort-towns Benidorm or Calpe along the Costa Blanca. It has a pleasant old town, a fine beach and is surrounded by hillside villas. The sea is of an incredible turquoise colour and there are plenty of idyllic cove beaches nearby, where we have the option to go sea-kayaking and stand-paddling. The most famous beach is Cala Portitxol or Playa la Barranca, backed by high cliffs.

About the organization of the meetup

This is a workation, which means we will combine working on our own tasks, talking about our projects and location-independent work in general as well as organizing some leisure activities together – so ideally we dedicate some 50% of the time working on our stuff and 50% learning new skills, socializing and enjoying the many options for outdoor activities and nightlife.

You should only join us if you bring along a project you are/going to be working on – it’s not a typical vacation, and you might get bored or disappointed if people around you are working at least half-day instead of joining you at the beach!

We will set our goals, what we want to achieve personally during the week. In a mastermind-session we’ll talk about our projects and give advice to each other on how to improve job-related issues or our lifestyle. From 3 pm on we might seize the daylight and organize activities together with other guests at the coworking space – but don’t feel pressured in having to join us every time we do something together. Some days after having returned to Barcelona we can arrange a follow-up meeting looking back at the great time we had there!
