However throughout the year we’ve all been reading articles (ie. Harvard Business Review) about how HR has to vanish, dissolve or at the very least, reshape. In 2015 HR seems to have become everybody’s punching bag but is this fair?

Recent research (by Zenger Folkman) comparing assessments of leaders in the HR function with those of leaders in other functions, suggests that the typical HR leader is seen as six percentile points below average.

I would say that this should be seen as constructive criticism for HR to stand-up and fight for its renewal, change, transformation and prove its worth.

This can be done by minimizing its weaknesses; lack of data analytics, focusing internally rather than externally, lacking strategic perspective, not anticipating and responding quickly to problems,…
