It’s not the most mainstream app, but Agroptima has developed a service that help farmers manage their work easier. The app records the farmers daily work like planting, apply pesticides, harvesting, etc, and does this without the need for coverage.
The Barcelona startup hopes to reach a nationwide customer base with this recent funding of €700.000 from investors like Carlos Blanco, Tandem Portfolio , led by Jordi Martorell and Ramon Dalmases, and other angels.
The new funding will also help them develop the technology further, and expand their business to the rest of Europe and the US.

Hundreds of customers
After being in business for around one and a half year, the company have 600 customers using their service.
Agroptima charges €99 per farm annualy, but through their free version, they currently have around 20.000 downloads of the app.
They recently updated the service with a solution called Costes, which analyzes which crops are the most profitable for each farmer.
All the data each farmer collects gets syncronized and gathered in a web platform, making it easier to control the whole farm.
One of the investors, Carlos Blanco, says Agroptima is a service the agricultural industry needs:
“Agroptima is a very good technology solution for a sector which still very much analog in regards to management tasks and data. The agricultural sector should take advantage of benefits of technological solutions to advance and optimize their results.”
The startup has won more than 10 awards in Spain, France and Germany, and has also been awarded by the Department of Agriculture.
They were finalists during the 4YFN (4 Years From Now) conference competing with more than 500 companies from around the world.
