It is a pleasure to invite all developers to the third WOMEN IN GAMES SPECIAL CHRISTMAS event to be held in Barcelona, at the Mobile World Center, on December 20, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.
Women in Games is an event for the empowerment of women in the video game industry. A free event for all developers of the industry, both for professionals and students.
Four professional women from the industry will talk about their knowledge and experience in the sector!
TANIA ANTA – SENIOR DEVELOPER AT SOCIAL POINT
Determined to create videogames since she saw her cousin juggle an MSX and a Basic manual, she took her first steps in the industry as a localization tester and integration engineer for EA during a couple of summers while finishing Computing Engineering at Complutense. Finished the career, and after a few years as a developer for a consultancy in León, he moved to Barcelona in 2009 to study the master’s degree in design and development of videogames at the UPC. Since then it has not stopped programming them, either for companies such as Digital Chocolate, Ubisoft, Bee Square or the Scottish Outplay, or on their own in game jams.
EVA GASPAR – CEO ABYLIGHT STUDIOS
Lawyer specializing in corporate law and ESADE master’s degree in IP & IT, with a diploma in business studies and a higher technical degree in International Trade. CEO since 2011 of Abylight Studios, a company founded in 2004 for the development of video games and since 2016 has also re-directed its activity to the publication. Founder of GD Consult, specialized consultancy in creative and technological companies. President of PAD, state association of video game developers.
MARÍA MUÑOZ POZUELO – 2D / 3D ARTIST IN KING
After graduating in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona, he decided to take the Master in videogame creation (UAB) and embark on the adventure of this expanding sector. Versatile and curious, she has been working as a generalist artist in the mobile sector since 2012. She has worked for companies such as Social Point and currently works for King in charge of visual development in prototypes.

María Muñoz Pozuelo – The roles of the videogame artist: Building our portfolio
We will define the different roles within the branch of art that we find in companies and then give some advice on how to create an attractive and effective portfolio.
Tania Anta – Do ghosts dream of Pacman? Artificial intelligence in videogames
After putting in context the concept of AI in video games in contrast to the academic development of that field, the talk introduces informally the most common applications and techniques used in games of different genres in order to generate the illusion of intelligence on the other side of the command.
Eva Gaspar – 10 Keys in the production of an indie video game
Analysis of the 10 most relevant points of the development and publication of an independent game, what to do and what to avoid.
