Exponential Tech Meetup is first and foremost a community of proactive enthusiasts that are looking for a creative outlet to learn, explore, discover, apply and create high impact innovation via high impact technology including sensors, AI, space tech, biotech, 3d printing, etc.

We want to gather all the creative minds in Barcelona (and eventually elsewhere), build a strong community with high tech capacity, and empower our community to create impact. We don’t just want to talk about technology, we want to get our hands dirty and create. We want to create alignment of what we know how to do best (with high tech badass stuff), with what the world needs (find the cause), and what we are passionate about.

7:45 An introduction from Alex Rodriguez

Alex Rodriguez is a Theoretical Physicist and Aerospace Engineer who has previously worked on projects with the European Space Agency to find life on other moons, and at NASA, prospecting asteroids and finding viable ways to travel to Mars. He’ll be giving a small talk on his theory on how Science-Fiction actually helps us predict the future, and a small presentation, 10×10, where he will try to introduce 10 disruptive technologies in 10 minutes.

8:25 Francesca Catto.

She’s a biotechnologist and cell biologist with a knack for cool research. She is an expert in stem cell research, cloning and microscopy and she’ll be giving us an introduction to what it means to be a transhumanist and tools that are being developed and already used to extend the life of humans (CRISPR/Cas9).

8:50 Izan Peris
Izan Peris is an aerospace engineer with a mission to make ideas go from infinity to beyond, almost literally . He is the co-founder of Disrupt Space, where he helps Space startups reach the stars. He’ll be talking about our future as humans in space and what technology is being developed to get us there!

9-10pm: networking

After all the speakers we’ll open up the floor for some general discussion, questions and future-making ideas. Then we’ll have some drinks and chat about our common interest. We invite anyone who has a cool hardware idea or startup to come and 1-minute present their idea! Bring your prototypes, bring your blue-prints, bring whatever you want. All is welcome here and we’re more than sure someone will be interested in it!

Let’s make the future happen NOW. Let us put our minds together and come up with the next initiative that will shape our society and make an impact. We’ve got mentors, we have engineers and designers and we have the machines to make it happen, all at our disposal.
