The BCN World Cup

Do you like football? Football is not only followed, it is also played. If you are a football player and have a team, you may be interested in simulating the World Cup in Russia in this new tournament organized by a group of entrepreneurs, the Barcelona Word Cup.

The tournament

The Barcelona World Cup is designed to share around sports and to promote friendship. It’s a multicultural event whose objective is to spend a day with family and friends. The idea is to make a reproduction of the Russian World Cup in 7-a-side football with 32 teams representing the national teams participating in the most important international football championship held every 4 years. With the excuse that it is being held this year, the organizers of Flags BCN, experts in producing sporting events and promoting values such as tolerance and multiculturalism, have created a different tournament for teams to feel as if they were playing the world cup, always under the banner of fair play.

The organization

The tournament takes place in a single day, on July 1st, 2018, starts at 10 am until 6 pm. Teams can be mixed and must be composed of 8 to 10 players. Facilities will be the football fields of the University of Barcelona, on Avenida Diagonal. In addition to the tournament, those attending the event will be able to enjoy various leisure activities to brighten up the day in the most complete way. Fan zone, penalty and Teqball tournament, different games for the little ones or a painting workshop are some of the activities you can do while you enjoy a mini world cup in Barcelona. Two foodtrucks will also be installed so that you can have a snack during the event. The sponsors of the event are the House of Russia, a cultural association that promotes Russian culture in Barcelona, and Celebreak, organizer of international football tournaments, which also provides an app to follow the results and watch the tournament live via mobile phone.

Registration

The registration fee to participate in the tournament will be 250 euros per team and includes participation in the World Cup as one of the teams and a welcome pack with access to the field, personalized T-shirts with names and colors of the teams, badges and gifts. The registration protocol consists in appointing an ambassador, who will contact the organization to register the team and reserve a country until June 10th, 2018.
