Growing without Funding: Enspiral and its Self-Funded Ventures

May 10, 2017 @ 19:00 - 21:00

Free

Why reaching self-sustainability without private investment is a key fact for your business success? Who would say empires such as Patagonia, Coca-Cola, Apple, Dell, eBay, Basecamp, Dropbox or MailChimp among others started up by their own means?

Get to know a utopia came true. The history of Enspiral, a foundation managing a growing number of Self-Founded Tech Ventures such as Loomio and Lifehack HQ first hand from one of its co-founders, Kate Beercroft, who will come from New Zeland to Barcelona that week. Enspiral is a global network of entrepreneurs who utilize the principles of self-management to create systemic change via social impact entrepreneurialism. Based in New Zealand, its members have been practicing open and participatory decision making, collaborative funding, and non-hierarchical ways of working for over six years.

At Pandorahub we have been supporting the self-sustainable growth of businesses for almost 2 years. Now we join forces with Starting Legal to monthly identifying and bringing to you real success stories of self-founded growth in person every month we will invite a successful startup who have managed to exist without investment. Even coming to break event with your own means!

Contrary to what prevails, validating, monetizing and even growing your organization autonomously is not only possible but pretty recommendable. Basically, multiplying the level of control over your business and the chances of building something bigger and more sustainable.

Is this your case or do you know any business like this? You can write us here startups@pandorahub.co and maybe your history could be the next one we explain.

This time we have invited conscious investors (who value not only your scalability but the real value and longevity of your business), alternative funding resources & tools, and bootstrapping experts for a final discussion.

This event is part of a monthly invitation for you to get to know successful organizations that have managed to self-finance in the early stages of existence until being self-sustainable. This is not at odds with receiving funding in later phases, once it is proven that the business is viable and even profitable. We will talk about strategies that have served these companies to not need investment in pre-growth phases.

SUCCESS HISTORY # 2

This time we will get to know in depth the Enspiral model explained by its co-founder Kate Beercroft. Kate is thankful she is part of an ecosystem when she can work with maximum autonomy and focus on building products that may have a systemic impact on people and our world. Her work involves cooperative entrepreneurship – focusing on collaboration in order to surpass confines of competitive, closed innovation. Kate is a member of Enspiral and a founder of the Golden Pandas livelihood pod. She is also member of OuiShare
