First Catalunya Emprèn Congress

On 16 July the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya will host the I Catalunya Emprèn Congress, a meeting point for thousands of entrepreneurs seeking financing, businesspeople looking for solutions to their innovation challenges and investors operating both in Spain and abroad.

The Congress is organised by the Catalan Government and its first part is to feature a Corporate Venturing session. The aim of the session is to drive open innovation in large and medium enterprises through participation in the business projects of entrepreneurs, start-ups, TBCs and SMEs that meet their innovation challenges.

The Corporate Venturing session will be followed by the Investment Forum. A total of 21 projects from a range of fields (life and health sciences, ICT and other technologies) will have the chance to gain exposure among investors to raise financing. Congress attendees will be able to vote for the best projects.

XIX ACCIÓ Investment Forum

The main point of connection for entrepreneurs and investors in Catalonia.

It is the place where entrepreneurs and investors have the chance to network, get to know each other and to do business together, while they jointly analyse investment attraction and possibilities in different business initiatives.

At the same time, finalist entrepreneurs present their projects to the public with the goal to get funding while investors can choose the best projects in which to invest. It is the perfect opportunity to find and to be found.

The Forum’s previous event attracted over 700 visitors, both entrepreneurs, private investors and venture capital funds. A prior selection of the 21 best projects were presented to over 150 private investors and representatives of venture capital funds.

The Investment Forum is one of the initiatives that contributed to seeing Catalonia recognised as a European Entrepreneurial Region (EER) in 2012, at the hands of the EU Committee of the Regions. This international award demonstrates the commitment of ACCIÓ with small and medium sized firms and with entrepreneurs as well as the Investment Forum’s capacity to stimulate alternative sources of financing and networking for the business community.
