Ethical Cities: Urban Innovation Forum

July 6, 2016 @ 08:00 - 17:00

The Ethical Cities: Urban Innovation Forum is taking place in Barcelona on 6 July 2016. The forum, organised by RMIT Europe, the European presence of RMIT University in Australia, will introduce the concept of ethical cities for the first time in Europe through this one-day event. This event builds upon the Ethical Cities Urban Thinkers Campus organised by the UN Global Compact – Cities Programme, World Vision International and RMIT in February 2016 in Melbourne as a contribution to the World Urban Campaign.

The Ethical Cities: Urban Innovation Forum in Barcelona aims to bring together EU, national and local stakeholders for an open discussion about key urban challenges and the up-scaling and replication of innovative, plausible solutions that pass the test of practicality. Key recommendations from the forum will be submitted to Habitat III, the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, scheduled for October 2016 in Quito, Ecuador.

This event is part of the European Commission’s ‘Neighbourhoods of the Future’, a pan European roadshow that takes a fresh look at innovating smarter new build and retro-fit home and urban environments, with a view to empowering an ageing population to live healthier, more meaningful, connected lives with dignity and autonomy. These events will inform the development of a European Reference Framework for age-friendly housing.

Attendance is by invitation only. If you are interested in attending please email events.europe@rmit.edu.au
