Do’s and don’ts of ETL

May 24, 2018 @ 19:00 - 20:30

Free

Hello BCN Data Engineers!

May is bringing warm weather to us, and we are bringing you yet another speak around data 🙂 This time we’re back at Codeworks with a speaker from Schibsted (https://www.schibsted.com/). Iker Martinez de Apellaniz (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ikermda/) is a data engineer with 10 years working in banking, internet, and farming (ask Iker and he will tell a fun story about this!). He sees himself as a data democrat, working in both getting useful information from raw data to the users, and providing tools to them to access this data.

Iker will describe the different techniques and tools to develop data pipelines; from traditional BI tooling to the latest and more advanced ways of having Data Streams in subsecond latency. He’ll talk from personal experience, give practical advice, and tell you some of the mistakes he made, so hopefully save you the burden of making them yourself.
