Barcelona Tech, Startups and Innovation
A startup has many compelling stories to tell, but what piece of information is the investor wishing to hear at different stages?
This is a 3-part event, where experienced investors will discuss the “Anatomy of a pitch”, Attending startups will pitch and receive “deconstruction feedback” and everyone will network and get to know each other!
_________
When startups pitch, many times the message they want to share and what is understood are very different things.
For example, they want to communicate that they are unique, and they say “We have no competition”. What investors hear is … “no other company is addressing the issue, which may mean the issue is not big enough, the solution is not the right one, or the market is not yet ready”.
There is a gap between what you say, and what is heard. We will address that gap and try to bridge it by exploring real pitch examples and expert investors’ experiences.
What to expect from the pitching session:
So, this won’t be a regular pitching session with regular feedback.
Instead, the investors will be answering the question “What did I hear you say…? “.
They will help “deconstruct” your pitch to its bones, and point out flaws in communication, that if you address, your message will be understood more effectively.
Eeveryone in the room, that wants to do a 1-minute pitch will be invited to do so. Some of them will be selected to do a 3-minute pitch, to receive further feedback.
What to expect from “Anatomy of pitch” Investors Panel Discussion :
We will have 6 investors on the stage, sharing their experiences of different pitches, the occasion, length, and importance of hearing different parts of the story about the startup.
We will have investors including
